Unveiling Melodic Magic - Prof. Rajesh Shah Presents Solo Sitar Performance in Kathmandu

In a melodious celebration marking the onset of the Nepali New Year 2081, Professor Dr. Rajesh Shah, Head of the Department of Sitar at Banaras Hindu University, is set to captivate the Kathmandu audience with a solo sitar performance. The enchanting musical evening is scheduled for the auspicious day of Baisakh 1st week, coinciding with the initiation of the New Year.

The announcement was made during an esteemed discussion held at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, with Mr. Achyut Ram Bhandari, the guardian of the Achyut Ram Music Foundation, meeting with the honorable Speaker Devraj Ghimire. During the meeting, Mr. Bhandari extended an invitation to the Speaker to grace the solo sitar performance and offered a brief overview of the Foundation's upcoming cultural events scheduled for the 15th of every Nepali month.

Expressing his gratitude for the invitation, Speaker Devraj Ghimire acknowledged the importance of such cultural exchanges and expressed his willingness to attend the program. During the discussion, Mr. Bhandari also provided a glimpse into the Foundation's initiatives, highlighting their dedication to promoting classical music and cultural events throughout the year.

This interaction comes as a follow-up to a previous visit by a delegation led by Achyut Ram Bhandari to Banaras Hindu University in Kartik 10, 2080. The delegation, comprising six representatives from Kathmandu, engaged in discussions with Professor Dr. Rajesh Shah, who is renowned for his contributions to the field of classical music.
