Leadership Lesson From Mahabharat

After the war in Mahabharata, Krishna asked Arjun to get off the chariot. But Arjun requested Krishna to step down first.

Krishna insisted that Arjun gets off before him and Arjun obliged.

However, as soon as Krishna got down, the chariot burst into flames.

Arjun was shocked! A moment ago, the chariot was all fine and the next burned into ashes.
He asked Krishna about this mystery.

Krishna explained, “During the battle, the chariot was already burnt by the powerful celestial weapons of Bhishma, Drona, and Karna. It was Me who was holding it together for you.”

Similarly, when we are busy achieving our goals as leaders, we may feel that we are the ones doing everything. We may never know whose invisible contribution is holding things together.

We may not realize the individual contribution right away, as the project is teamwork. And hence, a leader needs to respect every member of his team and not belittle anyone.

A good leader should never feel arrogant that it's just him driving things. One never knows which invisible forces are working for him/her.

Believe in every team member of yours. Respect each one of them, as each one is contributing in some way or the other… some visible, some invisible.
